The story

Strength, patience, and grounded power.

This commanding hollow bull is shaped from worked sheet metal, its raised hump, sweeping horns, looped tail, and densely textured hide giving the figure a remarkable sense of movement. It is a substantial statement piece for a study, library, or globally collected interior.

Across South Asia, the bull is associated with endurance, fertility, agricultural abundance, and sacred strength. The hand-worked surface allows every change of light to reveal another layer of the maker’s hammer and punch work.

Attribution note

The construction, zebu form, open tubular legs, joined sheet sections, and repoussé-style tooling are consistent with Indian or South Asian decorative metalwork of the mid-to-late 20th century. The silver-toned finish appears to cover a copper-alloy sheet body. No maker’s mark is visible in the supplied photographs; the earlier “Republic-period European return” attribution cannot be confirmed.
